Tissue Culture

Tissue Culture is a type of cloning, which produce a number of genetically identical plants from the original by use of a tissue scrap.

Process

  • Take a sample of growing tissue from the plant you wish to clone
  • Break the sample down into individual cells (protoplasts)
  • Place the broken down sample into agar
  • The agar contains everything the samples need to develop into a plant
  • When they grow enough, the plants can be moved into compost
