Energy

Energy is a property of any matter, measured in Joules (J). It's a measure of the matter's ability to do work, to heat up, or to function. There are many types of energy, which largely fall under 2 categories:

• Potential Energy, for objects with a potential to move.
• Kinetic Energy, for objects which are moving.

Systems

A system is an object or collection of objects, essentially its a given space of which we can observe.

• In an open system, energy is free to leave and enter the system.
• In a closed system, energy cannot enter or leave the system.
