Metallic Bonding

A metallic bond is a form of bonding, from the electrostatic attraction between the negative delocalised electrons and the positive ions in metals - the greater the charge of the ion, the stronger the bond. This makes metals giant structures of regular patterns.

In metallic bonds, delocalised electrons essentially 'act as a glue' for the metal.
